The Bank of Australasia on eastern corner of Timor Street and Kepler Street (now Gallery nightclub) opened 21 May 1860. The bank eventually became ANZ and moved to Liebig Street in 1970. The National Bank, built in 1869, is on the western corner of Timor Street, but moved to Koroit Street in 1975.
